Infra Scientific Ltd has been involved with whole blood and blood plasma viscosity measurements with various manufacturers of instrumentation since 1997.

In 2003 Infra Scientific designed, patented and built the blood plasma viscometer based on the well tried and tested syringe / stepper motor / capillary technique which has been the laboratory "gold standard" since the 1980's.

The latest instrument from the Infra Scientific development team is the MiniBall, based on the falling ball principle and produced to be "affordable" to any laboratory or indeed to any doctors surgery.

Both the Blood Plasma Viscometer and MiniBall are suitable for measuring any low viscosity fluid from 0.3 mPas (e.g. acetone) to over 100 mPas (e.g. motor oils)
